Policies

Warranty policy.

Every plate in your order includes a three-year warranty. For £4.99 once per order, the optional Lifetime upgrade extends the same cover for as long as you, the original purchaser, retain the registration shown on your plates. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Included three-year cover

The included warranty covers all plates in your order against the faults listed below for three years. Keep your order confirmation so we can identify your purchase. You do not need to buy the optional upgrade to receive the included cover or exercise your statutory rights.

Optional Lifetime upgrade

The Lifetime warranty upgrade costs £4.99 once per order and covers every complete number plate supplied in that order for as long as you, the original purchaser, retain the registration shown on it. It covers the same faults, with the same exclusions, as our included three-year warranty.

Your cover continues if you keep the registration and move the same plates to another vehicle. It is not tied to the car the plates were first fitted to.

The warranty is personal to the original purchaser and cannot be transferred. If you sell your car with the registration and plates, the new owner is not covered. Cover also ends if you sell or transfer the registration or plates to someone else.

Claims under the Lifetime warranty must be made by the person who purchased the plates from Number Plate Hub. Keep your order confirmation so we can verify your purchase and upgrade. The upgrade extends cover for the plates supplied in that order; it does not include a new set of plates when you change vehicles.

Customers who already purchased an upgrade keep the cover agreed at the time of their order.

What both warranties cover

Both the included three-year warranty and the optional Lifetime upgrade cover the complete plate against the following faults: separation of the reflective backing; water entering the plate and damaging the acrylic or reflective layer; loss of adhesion of 4D or gel characters; and warping or bending of the acrylic. The same exclusions below apply to both warranties.

Warranty exclusions and fitting

The warranty excludes normal wear such as scratches and chips, accidental damage, theft, lost plates and plates that have been drilled or screwed through. Drilling can allow water into the plate. Consider a compatible holder or adhesive fixing method and read the fitting instructions. These voluntary-cover exclusions do not remove statutory rights for faulty goods.

Making a claim

Use our contact form with your order number and a description of the fault. Lifetime warranty claims must be made by the original purchaser; we will check the claim against the original order and may ask for evidence that you still retain the registration. We will explain how to supply photographs or arrange an inspection if needed. Replacements for covered faults are at our expense, including replacement delivery and any necessary return postage. We begin the warranty process on the day a claim is approved. Both warranties are additional to your statutory consumer rights and do not restrict any statutory right to a refund.
