What are 3D number plates?.

A guide to the rounded profile of gel digits.

What creates the raised finish?

3D gel characters have a raised, domed face. The shape catches the light differently from flat printed characters and the flat face of acrylic.

3D Gel or 4D Acrylic?

Choose gel for a rounded face, or compare acrylic if you prefer a flat face with a defined edge. 4D Gel combines an acrylic base with a gel top.

Check the complete plate.

Raised characters are allowed, but that alone does not establish compliance. The full plate must meet the applicable rules. Read the official guidance below.

Compare the face and the edge.

A front-facing photograph shows the character shape; an angled close-up shows the rounded gel profile. Compare both views with acrylic if you are deciding between 3D and 4D. Use the same plate dimensions to make the comparison fair.

Check the configuration before buying.

Choose the number of plates you need, confirm the size and then select the finish. Check whether the displayed price is for one plate or a pair and review any extras. The builder shows your configured total before you continue.
