How to fit number plates.

Check the registration on both plates before you fit them. Hold them against the car to check the size and fixing positions before using pads, holders or screws.

Check the new plates

Read every letter and number and compare them with your order. Check the finish, sizes and colours: white at the front, yellow at the rear. Contact us before fitting if anything is wrong.

Decide how to attach them

Use adhesive pads or a compatible holder if you want to avoid drilling the plate. Our voluntary warranty excludes plates drilled or screwed through. This does not remove your statutory rights for faulty goods.

Position the plates

Clean the mounting area and hold the plate in place to check its alignment. Follow the instructions for your pads, screws or holder. Keep all fixings clear of the characters and required markings.

Check the attachment

Make sure the plate is secure and the registration can be read clearly. Follow any adhesive setting time before driving. If the mounting points need repair or you are unsure about drilling, use a fitter.

Using adhesive pads

Clean and dry the mounting surfaces before applying pads. Follow the pad manufacturer’s instructions for pressure and setting time. Position the plate before making contact; repositioning an adhesive pad can weaken the bond.

Using a holder

Fix the holder to the vehicle, insert the plate and secure the retaining rail according to its instructions. Make sure the plate cannot move and that the frame does not cover the registration or required markings. Our holders fit standard rectangular acrylic plates.
