Measure the mounting area.

Measure the existing plate and the usable space around it. Check the position of mounting holes, holders, cameras and trim before choosing a different shape.

Count the registration characters.

Short plates have character limits. Badges and the selected format can also affect compatibility. Enter your registration in the builder to see the available combinations.

Check the front and rear separately.

The available space can differ between the front and rear of a vehicle. Motorbike plates use a separate two-line layout. Dimensions alone do not establish road suitability.

Check your registration in the builder

A short plate keeps full-size characters.

A shortened plate reduces the spare area around a suitable registration. Count the letters and digits, not the space between the groups. Use the short-plate checker, then confirm the finish and any badge in the builder.

Check existing holes and holders.

A smaller outline may expose old screw holes or fail to reach the existing mounting points. Measure these before ordering. If your front and rear mounting areas differ, check each plate independently.
