Documents for your plates.
Before we make your plates, we need to check who you are and that you can use the registration. Have your ID and registration document ready, then use the private upload link supplied with your order.
Proof of your name and address
A driving licence is one option. GOV.UK also accepts a utility, Council Tax or rates bill, or a bank or building society statement, from the last six months, and a national identity card. A passport proves your name only, so it needs separate address evidence. See the official list below for all accepted combinations.
Proof you can use the registration
A V5C logbook, V750 certificate of entitlement or V778 retention document can show your right to use the registration. Other accepted documents include the new keeper slip and specified DVLA authorisation documents. Check that the registration on your order matches the document exactly.
How to upload
Open the private document link supplied with your order and select the document type. Upload a clear JPG or PNG of the front or relevant page; there is no routine requirement to photograph the back. The whole page, its details and any required stamp must be readable. Keep the originals available for checking. Please use the upload link for documents, not the contact form.
Your uploaded documents are kept in private, encrypted storage away from our website’s hosting account. We delete them after the 24-hour period following order completion. We keep necessary order and verification records separately.
