How to fit number plates.

Check the registration and fit before removing the old plates or making holes in the new ones.

Check before fitting.

Check the registration, front and rear colours, plate sizes and finish against your order. If something looks wrong, keep the plates unfitted and contact us.

Choose the right fixing method.

Check the vehicle mounting points and the instructions for your selected screws, pads or holder. Follow the fixing manufacturer’s preparation and installation instructions.

Prepare and align.

Use a clean mounting surface and check the alignment before securing the plate. Keep screws and fittings clear of the registration characters.

Make a final check.

Check that the plate is firmly attached and visible. If you are unsure about drilling or mounting, ask a competent fitter to help.

Before removing the old plates.

Read the registration on both new plates and compare it with your order. Hold each plate against its mounting area to check the dimensions, outline and fixing positions. Resolve any mismatch before drilling, removing protective film or applying adhesive.

After the plates are fitted.

Follow the fixing manufacturer’s instructions, including any adhesive setting time. Check that the plates are secure and the registration is unobstructed. If the mounting points or fixing method are uncertain, use a competent fitter.
